Twilight!

Yes, I have to admit that I am a huge fan of the books, so last night I dragged Erik on a date to go see the much anticipated movie. It was way fun to go out on a "real" date. You know, somewhere besides the grocery store. We went out to dinner, then got in line at the movie theater at 8:00 for the 9:45 showing. When we got there the line was not very long, but by 8:45 it was wrapped around the building, so we were glad we got there early. During the nearly 2 hour waiting period some people who worked at the theater came out to do "Twilight Trivia". They were giving away free popcorn and drinks. Since we were so close to the front of the line we got to participate, and I got a question right and got free popcorn and a drink! It was a very small popcorn and drink, but it was free, so that made my night. The movie itself was actually pretty enjoyable too, so it ended up being a very nice night out :)

Getting Anxious

So I am thinking about having my baby and it is starting to make me a little nervous! Erik and I still don't have any baby stuff, but that's not what worries me the most. It's that we really don't even know what we will need! I mean, obviously there's clothes and diapers and stuff, but as I look around and think about it there is a lot of baby stuff out there and I don't know what will be helpful and what is just dumb, and what will be needed right at first and what will just sit around for a few months before it even gets used. So to all you moms out there, and even any not-moms-yet, I have a question: What is the one "baby" item (or two or three) that you would never want to have to live without? I would really appreciate any suggestions. I am not due until the end of February, but that just means that I could have a baby in only 3 months and at the moment I feel seriously under-prepared!

Grandma and Grandpa's House

About a week ago Erik, Krysta, and I went to our Grandparent's house! They are my dad's parents. We try to visit them often since they only live 45 minutes away. It was a very nice November Saturday, so we helped them clean their windows. Erik washed, I squeegeed, and Krysta dried. Then we had yummy ribs and potatoes and all sorts of other yummy things for dinner, and a delicious turtle ice cream pie for dessert. We love going to Grandma and Grandpa's!

President Obama

Well I hope everyone was able to get out and vote yesterday! If you voted for Barack Obama, then today is a good day for you. If you voted for John McCain, then at least you have the right to complain if things don't turn out well. There was definitely a lot of tension and anticipation in this presidential race. No matter what each person thinks about the man himself, I think it is absolutely wonderful that we were able to elect an African-American President. I think this is a very big, positive step for our nation. It is so exciting to be present as this piece of history is made!

Carving our Punkin

We hope everyone had a great Halloween! Judging by some of the pics I've seen, it was a good time all around. This year Erik and I kept it pretty mellow. We went to a trunk-or-treat on thursday, and on friday we carved our one little punkin, then just made some dinner and watched a movie.
